A Little Bit of Goostrey Tennis History
The narrative and photograph from 1909 were provided by long-standing committee member Roger Rushton. There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that Roger is the gentleman second from the left!
The article provides a charming insight into the spirit of community more than 100 years ago and one can only admire the time and commitment required from members to maintain grass courts for regular play - and to think that we consider "dragging" our all-weather courts a chore!
