Goostrey Tennis Club is based at the Boothbed Lane playing fields in the  village of Goostrey, South Cheshire. The Club was established in 1993 when the Goostrey Village Hall & Playing Fields Foundation (VHPFF) - a registered charity - opened community leisure facilities on the outskirts of the Goostrey village in South Cheshire.

 

Membership is open to residents of Goostrey, Allostock, Cranage, Lower Withington, Over Peover, Swettenham and Twemlow, who are members of Goostrey VHPFF.  (For information regarding membership of the VHPFF please contact Mrs Sally Ball - 01477 534160). 

 

Goostrey Tennis Club welcomes players of all standards - from those looking for social and recreational tennis to those seeking competition in local leagues.  The Club meets on Wednesday evenings (18.00 - 21.00 ) , Friday afternoon (14.00 - 17.00) and Saturday afternoons (14.00 - 17.00)   If you are interested in playing, please join us on a Wednesday evening.

 

Goostrey Tennis Club is represented in the South & Mid-Cheshire Tennis Summer Leagues by two Ladies' and two Men's teams and the team playing in the Winter & Spring Leagues has recently been promoted to the First Division. The Goostrey Open Tennis competition, in which any members of the Goostrey VHPFF can participate, has been held for more than 20 years and takes place during the months of May and June.  Go to Competitions & Results for more information.

 

There is an enthusiastic Junior Coaching programme, under the guidance of LTA Coach David Richardson, which takes place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings throughout the summer and special coaching camps are also organised during school vacations.
